Expectations

The Apostle Paul, in a letter to Timothy, said, “To aspire to leadership is an honourable ambition” (1 Timothy 3:1). It’s a privilege to be nominated as a potential candidate for the Bendigo Baptist Council. We are excited about the prospect of your ministry on this team and would ask that you carefully consider this church's expectations of its Council Members. Leadership is a privilege, so we expect a Council Member at Bendigo Baptist Church to give the following areas a high priority in their life.
They will:
* Keep a reasonably high profile in the church's life, making themselves available for conversations with other members and friends.
* Attend and give input at the following:
-   BBC Council Dinner & Meeting: (Monthly, 2nd Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.). Other meetings may be called at different times to discuss other issues.
-   Church Prayer Gatherings: Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly
-  Member’s Meetings: (as announced)
-   Strategic Planning: (as announced)
-   Other Events: (Sub Committees and Training Events)
* Maintain regular attendance at church, be involved in a specific ministry, and participate in at least one prayer network in the church's life each month.
* Read all reports and be prepared to engage in discussion where necessary at leadership events and be punctual to all meetings.
Support one another and the staff (paid and unpaid) of this church.
* Make the interests of Bendigo Baptist Church a top priority.
* Demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit and a personal commitment to growing spiritually.
* Be a regular participant in a small group for the purpose of being and making disciples of Jesus, as well as actively discipling others towards maturity in Christ.
