Who is running your program today? The other day I spent time with a friend and he mentioned in the course of our conversation that he had a new mantra for 2011. What was it? “I’m running my own program today!” Later that day we were at church together and afterwards, over a cup of coffee, we agreed that a better outlook was: “Jesus is running my program today!”
I took off from Melbourne this morning bound for PNG with the prayerful thought: “Jesus you’re running my program today!” Not knowing what to expect as I flew from Melbourne – Brisbane – PNG, I left with a determination to make Jesus central in every conversation and experience I encountered along the way on this trip. Was I in for a surprise on my very first day!
I had planned to stay at the Hideaway Hotel in Port Moresby before making my connection to Tabubil and Telefomin the following day. As we boarded the plane in Brisbane, a bloke working in Port Moresby sat beside me and before long we were deeply engaged in all kinds of conversations for the next three hours of our trip tgoether. As we drew closer to PNG, he turned to me and offered his home as a place to stay.
It’s interesting to note that God had other plans for me yesterday as I left Melbourne and headed for Port Morseby. I was going to spend the afternoon at my hotel catching up on some work but it was quite clear that God had another agenda for me on Thursday night.
Whose in control of your program today?
